We were honoured to work with Wells Fargo to produce the Someday Stories video contest, which endowed one lucky winner with $100,000 to put towards their dream. The contest also gifted $450,000 to three wonderful charities: Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and Junior Achievement.

The contest ran for two months and garnered over 10,000 submissions.

Congratulations to Evelyn from Sharon, MA. With a whopping 28,880 votes, she won $100,000 to make her Someday Stories dreams come true. Her daughter’s magazine now has the funding to continue inspiring young women everywhere. Second place went to Danny from Provo, Utah, who earned 24,071 votes.

As part of the contest, voters were prompted to vote for one of the three aforementioned charities before casting their ballot for their favourite Someday Story. It was a close race, but in the end Habitat for Humanity won the $250,000 prize with 25,542 votes. Second place winner Junior Achievement will receive a donation of $150,000, and Boys and Girls Clubs of America will receive a $50,000 donation. All the prize money was donated by Wells Fargo.

Memelabs would like to give a big thanks to everyone who participated in this campaign. It’s been a very satisfying project for us. We adore doing work which benefits non-profits and look forward to doing more of the same in the future.

Time sure flies when you’re having fun! The Voting Period for the Viewers’ Choice Awards will end at 11:59 PM (PT) on Saturday December 22^nd so tell your family, friends, and neighbors to get out there and vote for their favorite videos!

Remember we’ve got two contests going here with two sets of prizes; the Grand Prize and the Viewers’ Choice Awards. The Grand Prize winner-chosen by a panel of judges from Wells Fargo and the Tournament of Roses- will be announced soon and the winning video will be edited into a commercial to be broadcast during the nationally televised coverage of the 2008 Rose Parade on January 1^st, 2008!

The Viewers’ Choice Award, for the eligible video with the highest number of votes, will win an Apple iPhone. Viewers’ Choice Runners-Up Awards will be given to the next (10) videos with highest number of votes which will each win a Flip Video camcorder!

Well, just before the clock struck midnight this morning (11:59PM PST on Monday eve, to be exact), the doors for music video submissions shut tight.  Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to get their creative visions down and shared their videos for all to see – we’re psyched all of you participated!

But even though we’re not accepting any more entries, your job is not done – not even close.  Your mission now is to watch all of the posted videos and VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE (or favorites, as the case may be)!

That’s right!  YOU, the discerning public, will determine the winners of our Viewers’ Choice awards.  YOU will choose which of our lucky contestants will win one of the two sweet 8GB Apple iPhones™.  YOU will select the ten runners-up who’ll receive a 1GB Flip Video™ Ultra Camcorder.

So tune in and cast your ballots!  And leave no chads hanging – the voting period ends December 22nd!

It’s Monday, November 19, and that means you’ve got just about ONE MORE WEEK to finish up and submit your music videos. That’s right, the doors to new submissions shut tight at 11:59PM on Monday, November 26 – so get those projects in!
