We want you to send in an audition movie to see if you’ve got what it takes to be a star on TV’s hottest poker show, The PokerStars.net Million Dollar Challenge. Here’s what you need to know: 

  • Make a video of you and 2 poker buddies explaining why you should be chosen to go on the show to play for $1,000,000. If chosen, your poker chums will be joining you too - so make sure they play their part!
  • Register, login and select “UPLOAD MEDIA” to send us your digital video file
  • The video must be no more than 2 minutes in length.

The PokerStars.net Big Game Video Audition (“Audition”) is sponsored by Rational Poker School Limited, with its principal place of business at 33-37 Athol Street, Douglas,
Isle of Man, IM1 2LD. (“Sponsor”). The Contest is hosted and organized by Memelabs.com, with its principal place of business at 37 Dunlevy Avenue, Vancouver, BC, Canada, V6A 3A3 (“Organizer”). Contest is void where prohibited. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win this Contest. The Contest begins on March 26 2010 and ends on December 20th 2010 (the “Entry Period”).

  • If you don't have a PokerStars account, please create one by following these simple steps:
    • o Log on to www.PokerStars.net (the "Website");
      o Where prompted to do so, download and install the free "PokerStars" game software;
      o Follow the instructions to fill in the registration questionnaire for a free PokerStars.net account. Participants must provide a valid name, address and e-mail address in addition to confirming that they are of legal age of majority in the jurisdiction in which they reside;
      o Once registered, a player will receive a username of his/her own choosing along with a password to ensure the privacy of his/her PokerStars.net account.
  • When logged in to the PokerStars software, go to the 'Tourney' & 'Regional' tab and look for the "PokerStars Big Game" events.
  • Once a player has decided the tournament they would like to play in they simply double click the tournament link within the game software and click "Register." They must then play the poker game in the PokerStars.net Big Game tournament. Registration in each PokerStars Big Game Round 1 tournament is limited to 5,000 players. Players may play in as many as they want of the daily Round 1 tournaments held at 17:30 ET, 19:30 ET, 21:30 ET and 23:30 ET from March 26, 2010 to December 20, 2010.

Thereafter:

  • The players who finish in the top 200 of any of the PokerStars.net Big Game Final Round online qualifier will be asked to submit an audition movie.
  • Only one audition movie may be submitted per person per qualification.
  • Audition movies must include the actual contest winner.
  • Audition movies must be submitted within ten days of the satellite in which the winner qualified.
  • Audition movies must be limited to two minutes.
  • A selection of audition movies will then be selected and those candidates will be given the opportunity to travel to take part in the PokerStars.net Big Game television series (the "TV show").
  • The contestant plus one other will receive travel and accommodation expenses.

If a player’s audition video was rejected they can subsequently enter and win another freeroll, and therefore have the right to submit another audition video

Entrants may submit their audition video by visiting www.memelabs.com/pokerstars (“Site”).


They will be required to register by creating a username and password and entering a valid e-mail address. Then they can log in to upload their video after completing a brief entry form (providing their full name, date of birth, full address and phone number).

Video Criteria:

  • The video must be a digital movie*.
  • The video must be no more than 2 minutes in length.
  • The video must be less than 32mb.

Entry is limited to one video per person.

 

Eligibility

To enter and be eligible to win, you must:

  • Be a legal resident of the United States or Canada.
  • Be at least 21 years of age at the time of the recording of the show.
  • Be able to travel legally inside of the United States during the time of the recording of the show.
  • Register for an account on PokerStars.net or have an existing account with PokerStars
  • Qualify from any of The Big Game Final Round tournaments.
  • Abide by all terms and conditions set forth for this contest, including these official rules.

Prizes

In accordance with the foregoing rules, winners who have their two-minute audition movie chosen by the show’s producers will be awarded the following:

  • Travel expenses for the contestant and a friend to and from the taping location and the chosen hotel.
  • Hotel accommodation for the contestant and a friend at a hotel of PokerStars choosing
  • PokerStars will arrange travel and accommodation to and from the event.
  • The total retail value of all prizes that will be awarded in this contest is approximately $TBC. No cash or prize substitution is allowed unless agreed upon by PokerStars Management. All PokerStars Management decisions are final.


Judging Criteria

Videos will be judged based on whether they meet the video creation and entry requirements. a team represented by PokerStars and the studio will carefully go through each submitted movie and find the ones we feel are the best to go forward to the show.

Videos can be shot with camera phones, digital video cameras, or any other digital moving image format. No still photo entries will be accepted. All entries must be received within 10 days of receiving your audition notification emal. There is no cost or purchase required to enter the Site or submit a video.

 

Video Creation Requirements

  • Acceptable source video includes sources that are not copyrighted. Participant takes responsibility that all images and soundtracks are not copyrighted material. This means, do NOT use commercial copyrighted music or images. Participants will be provided links to rights-cleared music for this Contest.
  • Videos may not contain obscene language or content, including but not limited to: nudity, profanity, or graphic violence.
  • Video must be maximum 2 minutes long.
  • Files larger than 32 MB will not be accepted.
  • Videos must be submitted via the web as instructed after registration. If you have problems uploading, please contact us at info@memelabs.com. If you are having problems uploading, you must contact us before the contest deadline.

ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS

  • By entering this contest, entrants accept and agree to abide by these Official Contest Rules & Regulations and the decisions of the Contest Sponsors with respect to all aspects of the Contest, which are final, binding and conclusive on all matters relative to this Contest.
  • All entries become the property of the Contest Sponsors. By entering this contest, each prize winner authorizes the Contest Sponsors and their representatives to use in any related publicity, if required, their name, photograph, image, any statements they may make regarding the prize, place of residence and/or voice for advertising purposes worldwide in perpetuity and in any form of media including the Internet, without any form of compensation.
  • Each winner must comply with these Official Contest Rules and Regulations, the Tournament rules and rules of the TV event where the shows will be filmed. Each winner is solely responsible for any failure on his/her part to abide by any of the rules and regulations.
  • By entering this Contest, all entrants give PokerStars (and all its affiliated and associated entities) the right to include their name and information on any of their mailing lists for promotional purposes relating to PokerStars and to use their name in any publicity carried out by them, and agree to grant to PokerStars a non-exclusive irrevocable license and right to incorporate, use and reproduce the winner’s photograph, voice, name and likeness in whole or in part in and in connection with the advertising, exhibiting, marketing, promotion and exploitation of their business in any manner, in all media throughout the world. Additionally, each winner must execute a release and affidavit of eligibility in the form to be provided to him/her by PokerStars
  • Entrants assume, and hereby fully and finally release, the Contest Sponsors and their affiliated or associated companies and all of their respective employees from, any and all liability for injuries caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this Contest, or the use or misuse of any prizes granted herein, including any and all losses, damages, claims, actions and causes of action with respect to the prizes, including without limitation, in connection with travel.
  • All other expenses on receipt and use of the prizes, including passenger tariffs or duties, surcharges, airport fees, taxes (federal, state/provincial and local), meals, gratuities, incidental charges, and service charges or facility charges, if any, are the sole responsibility of each winner. Expenses not specifically stated herein will be the sole responsibility of each winner. It is the sole responsibility of a winner (and his or her guests if applicable) to have all necessary documentation required to travel to and from their jurisdiction of residence, and abroad, and to acquire their own insurance (including without limitation, with respect to baggage, travel, health and medical).
  • PokerStars assumes no responsibility for any computer, online, human error or technical malfunctions that may occur in the administration of the contest. If for any reason this contest is not capable of running as planned due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other cause beyond the control of PokerStars or any act corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this contest, PokerStars reserves the right, in its absolute and sole discretion, to disqualify an individual and /or cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest or amend the contest rules.   • In the event of any dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, entries will be deemed to be made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted during entry. The "authorized account holder" is the natural person who is assigned to the e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses or the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Winning entries may be required to provide PokerStars with proof that the claimed winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry, or forfeit the prize.
  • This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
  • All participants agree that any discrepancy regarding the contest, qualifying tournament or any and all aspects of the promotion will be put forward to PokerStars for consideration and that the decision of PokerStars Management will be final and binding.
  • PokerStars reserves the right (at any time) to cancel, modify or suspend the Event if, in the judgment of PokerStars, the Event is not capable of being conducted as specified.
  • In case of any disputes regarding any terms or conditions of The PokerStars.net Big Game promotion, the decision of PokerStars Management is final.

Conditions and Restrictions Apply

Your participation in this Contest, including your submission of a video to memelabs.com, shall be deemed to be your complete acceptance of the terms and conditions set out in these Official Rules. Additional conditions and restrictions apply:

 

1. By submitting your contribution to the Organizer in relation to the Site you agree to and thereby waive any and all moral rights that exist in your contribution to the Site and any derivative works made there from.
2. By submitting your contribution to the Organizer in relation to the Site you represent, warrant and undertake to Sponsor and Organizer that your contribution (i) is your own original work and that you have the sole right to submit it to the Site; (ii) does not violate in any way rights of third parties including copyright and other intellectual property rights; and (iii) does not violate any applicable laws.
3. Your contribution to the Site should not include any content whatsoever which would reasonably be understood to be defamatory, threatening, distasteful, racist, unlawful or otherwise objectionable.
4. Sponsor and Organizer reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time and at its sole discretion.
5. Entrants agree to grant to Sponsor and Organizer an everlasting, royalty-free, assignable, exclusive license to use, utilize, replicate, alter, adapt, modify, publish, broadcast, translate, produce derivative works from, distribute, present, play, sublicense and exercise all copyright and other intellectual property rights with respect to your contribution worldwide and/or to include your contribution in other works in any media now known or later created forever. Each entrant agrees and grants Sponsor and Organizer permission to make available and display/perform and otherwise distribute entrant's name and video submission in all media in perpetuity without compensation. Except where legally prohibited, submission of an entry into this Site constitutes permission for Sponsor and Organizer to use the entrant's name, photograph, likeness, voice, address (city and province/state) and testimonials, in printed, broadcast or new media, in perpetuity, in any manner they deem appropriate in connection with promoting the video submission itself or this Site, without further compensation in connection with this Site or the prize awarded.
6. Entrant is responsible to secure permission from all talent included in the video. Sponsor and Organizer assume no responsibility for royalties or fees associated with talent performances in the entered videos.
7. Sponsor and Organizer assume no responsibility for lost or late entries or for incomplete computer transmissions or technical failures.
8. Sponsor and Organizer reserve the right not to accept entries that are considered inappropriate for the Site.
9. Winners are subject to verification by Sponsor and Organizer, whose decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. An entrant is not a winner of any prize unless until entrant’s eligibility has been verified and entrant has been notified that verification is complete. Winners will be required to execute and return a liability release and affidavit of eligibility (except where prohibited) within ten [10] days of notice of winning.
10. Winners will be solely responsible for any and all local, state, and federal taxes. Sponsor and Organizer will report any individual winnings over $600 (in cash or fair market value of goods or services) in a one-year period to the Internal Revenue Service. Winners will receive a Form 1099 from Sponsor or Organizer if Sponsor or Organizer reports any winnings to the Internal Revenue Service.

Limitation on Liability

1. In the event that you breach any of your representations, warranties or undertakings contained herein, Sponsor and Organizer shall be entitled to and may seek indemnification from you for recovery of all legal fees, damages, claims and other expenses that may be incurred by Sponsor or its affiliated entities as a result of your aforementioned breach.
2. Each entrant agrees to indemnify Sponsor from any third party claims arising from or related to that entrant's participation in the Site. By participating, entrants agree that Sponsor, Organizer involved in the development, production, implementation and distribution of this promotion and their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, service providers, and agencies, and their directors, officers, agents, employees, attorneys, and any other person or entity associated with such entities and/or promotion shall not be liable for any and all claims, damages, losses or injuries, including any third party claims, arising from or relating to, in whole or in part, this Site, including entry and participation in this Site and acceptance, possession, use or misuse of the prizes. All entrants further agree that in the event of any third party claims, damages, losses or injuries, arising from or relating to this Site, they will indemnify Organizer and Sponsor from any and all such claims, including the attorneys' fees related thereto. Organizer and Sponsor shall not be responsible for any technical malfunctions of the telephone network, computer online system, computer equipment, software, program malfunctions or other failures, delayed computer transactions or network connections that are human, mechanical or technical in nature, or any combination thereof, including any injury.
3. Entrants participating in this Site are liable for any copyright infringements caused by their videos.

Memelabs, Inc. ("Memelabs," "we" or "us") provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from users of www.Memelabs.com and our media player which enables users to stream and broadcast content (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy applies only to information that you provide to us through the Services. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Site. You are advised to consult this policy regularly for any changes. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Memelabs Terms of Service.

As used in this policy, the terms "using" and "processing" information include using cookies on a computer, subjecting the information to statistical or other analysis and using or touching information in any way, including, but not limited to collecting, storing, evaluating, modifying, deleting, using, combining, disclosing and transferring information within the United States or internationally.

Information Collection and Use

Our primary goals in collecting information are to provide and improve our Services, features and content, to administer your membership and to enable users to enjoy and easily navigate the Site. We also may also use your information in order to better understand how our Services are used.

 

Personally Identifiable Information

In the course of using the Services, we ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you and administer your account ("Personal Information"). Personal Information may include, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, credit card or other billing information, email address and home and business postal addresses. We use your Personal Information mainly to provide the Services and administer your inquiries.

* Please be aware that when you register to become a Memelabs Member, other users of the Services may be able to see your screen or user name, in addition to any comments or submissions that you post to the Site or submit via the Services. We recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information and that you not use your real name as your screen or user name to the extent that it allows others to identify you.

* We also collect the other information that you provide as part of your use of the Services, including via your registration and the administration and personalization of your profile webpage (e.g., without limitation zip code and individual preferences) ("Non-Identifying Information"). Certain Non-Identifying Information would be considered a part of your Personal Information if it were combined with other identifiers (for example, combining your zip code with your street address) in a way that enables you to be identified. But the same pieces of information are considered Non-Identifying Information when they are taken alone or combined only with other non-identifying information (for example, your viewing preferences). We may combine your Personal Information with Non-Identifying Information and aggregate it with information collected from other Memelabs Users to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Services and to analyze and understand how our Services are used.

* We also use your Personal Information to contact you with Memelabs newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that may be of interest to you. Memelabs Members who agree to the terms and conditions of the Memelabs Terms of Service Agreement are given the opportunity to opt into receiving such communications from us in the future. If you decide at any time that you no longer wish to receive such communications from us, please follow the unsubscribe instructions provided in any of the communications or update your "user preferences" information. (See "Changing or Deleting Information," below.)

 

Log Data

As you use the Services, whether as a Memelabs Member or a non-registered user just browsing (any of these, a "Memelabs User"), our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit a website ("Log Data"). This log data may include information such as your computer's IP address, browser type or the domain from which you are visiting. We use this information to monitor and analyze use of the Services and for the Site's technical administration. We do not treat Log Data as Personal Information or use it in association with other Personal Information, though we may aggregate, analyze and evaluate such information for the same purposes as stated above regarding other Non-Identifying Information.

 

Cookies

Like many websites, we use "cookies" to collect information. A cookie is a small data file that we transfer to your computer's hard disk for record keeping purposes. We use cookies for two purposes. First, we utilize persistent cookies to save your registration ID and login password for future logins to the Site. Second, we utilize session ID cookies to enable certain features of the Services, to better understand how you interact with the Services and to monitor aggregate usage by Memelabs Users and web traffic routing on the Services. Unlike persistent cookies, session cookies are deleted from your computer when you close your browser. Third party advertisers on the Services may also place or read cookies on your browser. Emailing Via a Memelabs Account

As part of the Services, Memelabs Members are able to communicate with Memelabs Members and non-members through use of their accounts. Where Memelabs Members have selected the option of adding one or more email addresses to an online form, the message they create in the corresponding template can be sent from Memelabs to those email addresses on their behalf. These email addresses will be stored in the address book the Memelabs Member creates and will only be used for the purpose of sending the email communication to the addressee.

 

Information Sharing and Disclosure

Memelabs Members. When you register through the Site and submit your Personal Information to create a profile webpage, Memelabs Users will see your "Screen Name" and the month and year you first registered with Memelabs ("Required Member Identifiers"). You can choose what other Personal Information you provide as part of your profile ("Other Member Information") and in some cases you can choose whether to share that information publicly on the Site by making selections via the "user preferences" section of your profile webpage. Providing Other Member Information is voluntary and should correlate with the degree of interaction you want to have with Memelabs Users. We recommend that you guard your anonymity and sensitive information.
